Founded in 1939, Warner Bodies has been building utility bodies and custom trucks for over half a century. During the company's early years, Warner manufactured specialized van bodies for the sales and service industries. In 1985, William Boice purchased Warner Bodies and started a stage of radical growth.

During this period, Warner specialized in the custom utility body niche. Warner flourished by building specialized bodies to customer specification within a five-week maximum lead time. These products developed a reputation for their high-quality and competitive prices.

In 1997, Warner introduced standard line of service bodies called the Select. The units had a revolutionary design that lowered production costs. The Select line was very well received in the market and established Warner as a builder of standard products. The company’s design team later followed the Select with the launch of the revolutionary Select Pro, an affordable, streamlined body constructed as heavy-duty as any unit on the market.

Early in the 21st Century, the company determined that growth through diversification was needed. While Warner was already manufacturing units for the trailer towing and fire and rescue industries, little marketing existed to support sales. Warner then began promoting these additional products and additional sales followed.
